World Federation of Diamond Bourses Embraces Guangzhou Diamond Exchange


Guangzhou Diamond Exchange (GZDE) has become an affiliated member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB)!

At the 39th World Diamond Congress held on Monday, September 14, 2020, the participated members reviewed the membership application of the Guangzhou Diamond Exchange from China, agreed that GZDE is in compliance with the requirements of the By-laws and relevant rules of WFDB. The participants unanimously approved the membership-application of GZDE. GZDE then officially become the 30th affiliated member-bourse of WFDB.
The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) held the 39th World Diamond Congress in a virtual format on September 14-15, 2020. Mr. Yoram Dvash, acting president of WFDB and president of Israel Diamond Exchange, chaired the WFDB working sessions of this biennial gathering congress. More than 70 representives of presidents and senior managements of 26 diamond bourses from the global major diamond industry countries and regions participated in the WFDB sessions.
The WFDB working session approved the proposed amendments to the WFDB By-laws and Inner Rules, agreed to add one more vice president, totally two vice presidents, in the Federation. The meeting voted to confirm Mr. Yoram Dvash, president from the Israel Diamond Exchange as the president of WFDB. Mr. Rony Unterman was confirmed as the Secretary General.
Founded in 1947, WFDB unites diamond exchanges under one roof, and provides the diamond sector with an ability to act decisively and in unison to react to changing conditions in the market. GZDE was established in 2015, located in the important diamond industrial cluster of southern mainland China. It is believed that the joining of GZDE can further promote the communication and cooperation of the diamond industries of China and the world, and jointly propel the sustainable development of the Chinese and global diamond industry.
